HERITAGE GARDEN
Working with the City, volunteers (including members of HHS) planned,
organized, and created the Heritage Garden. Located at the corner
of Sycamore Avenue and Civic Drive, this Garden was dedicated on April
30, 1994. To help offset costs, trees, native to California, were
offered for purchase in honor of or in memoriam, to Hercules residents.
A plaque listing honorees is located along the central brick walkway.
Volunteers continue to help the City maintain the Garden. |

GLOBE CENTERPIECE,
SEATING AND MEMORIAL PLAQUE AREA
The heart of the Heritage Garden features a unique globe made out of
brick, flowers and shrubs. This globe represents Hercules' multi-national,
mutli-cultural heritage. Bordering bench sections feature plaques
memorializing individuals who in life, contributed their time in service
to the City and its citizens.

SISTER CITY GROVE
After approval by both City governments, officials from Tsushima,
Japan came to Hercules and on November 5, 1981, signed an affiliation document
that formalized a sister city relationship between the two cities.
To celebrate this long standing relationship, in 1993 the Sister
City Grove was incorporated into the planning of the Heritage Garden.
This grove is located in the upper northwest corner of the Garden.
Information regarding the Hercules Sister City Association can be found
